     Welcome

"Eclectic, compassionate, resourceful, creative, insightful, patient, effective" are some of my favorite ways my clients have described me. I am infused with wonder and excitement when working with people who long to move in the direction of their health and hearts, yet they may be aware there is a missing piece of information, or recognition they are stuck in a habitual pattern, and desire the support, education, and momentum that could guide them in the right direction and launch them toward the life they imagine.

Focusing on building awareness, empowering with knowledge and skills, and supporting and encouraging with understanding and compassion are what I do best.  I have been in the place where physical health and emotional balance were lacking.  Using my deep understanding of holistic health, wellness practices, nutrition, cooking, and contemplative practices has enabled me to support my own transformation and that of the incredible people I work with.

I utilize my knowledge of traditional medicine and clinical research, mind-body medicine practices such as yoga, meditation, the healing power of food + herbs +spices, mindfulness and compassion practices, online resources, apps, and more to create a clear individualized roadmap for clients to access well-being, and achieve their goals.

Although a meditator since college, I came to mindfulness and compassion based practices in 2007 after a cancer diagnosis left me needing tools for working with the side-effects of treatment.  Struggling with lingering pain, fatigue, and an overwhelmingly anxious concern about the possibility of recurrence, I found that my unresolved difficulties were eased with the application of mindfulness.

As a Registered Nurse for over 20 years, I knew the benefits could translate across many patient populations and provide relief where no other modalities had succeeded before. This understanding led me to become a qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher through training with Jon Kabat-Zinn, Saki Santorelli, Bob Stahl, and others through the University of Massachusetts Medical School/Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare, and Society.
I have the privilege of developing and teaching mindfulness + compassion based programs in hospitals, retreat centers, and online to diverse groups of patients, healthcare providers, educators, and students.

Backed by the burgeoning evidence for the benefits of mindfulness-based interventions, I am excited to bring this practice to those seeking relief from chronic and acute health issues, stress, and general everyday challenges, and empower individuals with tools to improve their quality of life, relationships, and overall well-being.
